Man Card, Distressed

I made this card for a few challenges. The Just Buggin Challenge was to do a masculine card and Stamp Something's challenge was to distress something.
This was the first time I distressed the edges of the paper with scissors. I looked at all my local craft stores and couldn't find a distress tool. But it worked well with scissors, then I inked the edges with distress ink. I need to get more confident with distressing. I'm afraid of ruining the card.
I used Life's a Beach for the lighthouse, and wild card for the grasses and cat tails. I ripped the paper for the sand and water. I punched a 1" circle for the sun and inked it. I stitched around the perimeter and tied on some raffia. I sponged the background paper with blue ink. I tried to make a sunset with ink but it didn't work. All in all, I like how it turned out! I will write, you're my beacon or you light up my life on the inside and give to my husband for our anniversary. :)

Thanks a Melon

I made this card for a friend. The inside says "Thanks a melon".

My new nieces gift.

This is a gift I made for my new baby niece, Jessica Billie Rose. Her parents, my brother and his girlfriend are dancers, so I HAD to get her, her first pair of dance shoes. I covered the box with pp and modge podge, my first time using it. It was a challenge! Then I made a sentiment on a scalloped circle. I used some premade embellishments from Michaels, I think they are called, recollections brand. I used a paper flower from the floral section too. Aren't the tiny ballet slippers cute? Also enclosed is a pair of lace socks. She is the most adorable little baby! I love her!

BBTB SYI Flourish cut. challenge & 2sketches4U.48

Hi all,

I have been busy and haven't been able to play for the weekly BBTB challenge but this week I FINALLY could. I also used 2S4U#48 sketch challenge. The colors on this card really do match! The photo doesn't show the colors acurately! It couldn't possibly be from my photography skills! Not! I need to read the instuction manual. The pp is basic grey, the green paper is Bo Bunny, the opposite side of the dot cardstock. I used "hint of pesto" ink (momento) to stamp the birdhouse. I used cream ribbon and prima tiny rose flowers. The flourishes are cut with "stretch your imagination cricut cartridge. The butterfly is a martha stewart punch. I really enjoyed making this card and am learning what my style is. I like alot of layers and embellishments. Thanks for visiting! Happy almost spring......

Several Green Challenges

For Fussy&FancyChallenge, Just Buggin, Stamp Something, Cupcake Craft Challenge. All have the color green in the challenge.

I cut the Card and the top hat with the cricut "A Child's year" cartridge. I used DCWV textured card stock in green. The patterned paper is K&Co. I put black stickles around the hat. I added a gingham ribbon and called it a day.
