Happy Birthday Mom

Hi Blog Friends, Summer is progressing nicely, let's hope it doesn't go too fast! Blueberries remind me of summer, any berries, really. But my Mom likes the color blue so I thought I'd use one of my new Flourishes sets.
This weeks Timeless Tuesday Challenge 175 from Flourishes asks us to use Favorites. Favorite stamps, dies, embellishments.
My favorite dies are any thing oval! I just love oval shapes so I used basic Spellbinder Nestabilities Ovals and Scalloped Ovals. My favorite stamp set is Tag Lines which is Flourishes small sentiment set. I use it all the time. The blueberry stamp is from Flourishes too. My favorite embellishment is, gosh, I love them all but I guess I'll say ribbon, in this case, seam binding. (But machine stitching is a close 2nd).

I used the Papertake Weekly Challenge, this week a sketch. I didn't use a square so I changed it a little but tried to keep the other elements. I'm also playing in the Kraft Journal-Anything Goes Challenge.
I hope I can get some cards made for next week. I'll be going to Block Island, R.I. for a few days on our boat for the 4th but will bring some crafting with me. Have a great week!

Bring back Beautiful

Hi all, I was pondering how I could play in the Bring Back Beautiful Monthly Challenge from Flourishes Stamps. The prize is to be guest designer for July at Flourishes which would be a dream come true!
The challenge name was the Beauty of the Rainbow. You had to use at least 3 colors. My main colors are yellow, green and pink but I wanted to also have an element of many colors so I went with a quilt image. Although I used the sketch challenge from Kraftin Kimmie # 133, I did make this card for the BBB challenge.

The name of this cute stamp is Lavender the Quilter. I colored it up with Copics. I used Crate Paper Random 6x6 paper. I minimized the sentiment with a copier/printer so I could fit it into the Spellbinder Tag. When it was the right size, about 80%, I printed it on cardstock. I made a cute felt rose with the MFT mini rolled rose die and added MS punched leaves and buttons.

Thanks for looking!

Crafty Secrets meets the DS56

Hey friends, What can I say? I LOVE this card but HATE the reason I had to make it! A special lady I know is fighting her battle right now so I wanted to make her a card. The inside has a great MSE rub-on that says "Hugs and prayers from someone who cares".
GOSH, I love Pink and Black! I heat embossed this adorable bra from Crafty Secrets with versamark ink and Black embossing powder. Of course I added a pearl to the bra for cuteness and realism!
Following this weeks Deconstructed Sketch #56, I diecut this Spellbinder Fancy Tag 2 oval and a Petite oval for the focal point. The paper is EP Victoria Garden and Me and My Big Ideas.
I used some lace from Wrights and the little flourish detail under the words is from Waltzingmouse. I finished it off with Prima faceted heart shaped gems.

I'm also playing in a few challenges. Links below.
Thank you for looking and visiting my blog today.

Father's Day 2012

Hi Friends,
Getting ready for Father's Day weekend? I am. I have a card to share today that I made for my Hubby. I kept a few challenges is mind while choosing the papers and such.
The starting point was the digital tag image that is the focal point. It is from The House Across The Bay Etsy store which I won at the Papercraft Star Challenge blog.

I matched some masculine style K&Co papers to the image to get a western feel. I thought some metal brads and twine would add some male mojo too! The last element is the sentiment die cut stamped with my new Inky Antics stamp set. I think it resembles a belt buckle. :)

I am submitting to the following challenges:
Flourishes173-Father's Day
Papercraft Star 101-Father's Day
Do you stack up-For Man or Boy
The Kraft Journal-Cards for Him

Birthday Frog

Look at this CA-UTE Frog image! Her name is Beach Baby Jayme from Whimsy Stamps. It's a digi that I colored with Copics and cut out. Whimsy Challenge link below. This is the second coloring try since the first one was ruined after I spent close to an hour coloring. A big blob of ink just dropped out of the tip of the pen for no good reason!! I don't really know why. Has that happened to you? I swear it wasn't "user error"!!!!!

I added her to an older Mojo Monday sketch #242. This was supposed to be for a challenge at Papercraft Star last week but I missed it. It was called "Here Comes Summer. This card fits the Critters challenge from Tuesday Throwdown, link below.
The real purpose for the card is for a friend's birthday but I was inspired to use bright summer colors and made a happy card!! The paper is Echo Park, last years summer paper pad.
This is the inside. I believe this is a Fiskers Birthday Stamp Set. I am submitting to the following Challenges.

Berry Card.CTD.Flourishes

Hey there, Today I have a card for you that features a digital image from The House Across The Bay (THATB). I won "Super Nova" from Papercraft Star for my Brother's Birthday card a few weeks ago. I got to choose some image pages as my prize and this is one of them. I was drawn to the strawberry image, so happy and bright.
I used it for the Color Throwdown #194 challenge from last week and the Flourishes challenge 171 -Thank you. My thank you sentiment is on the inside, forgot to photograph. :(
I used some scraps of BG Nook and Pantry doily paper for the Kraft color and for the blue, I used some Fancy Pants. Besides the digital image, I used a Wilton doily, some flat back gems from recollections, some great polka dotted ribbon from my stash and a sewing machine.
I used an old sketch. I will try to update this post later with the sketch challenge it was from.
I made some cute paper strawberries from a template that came from Oriental Trading, I found on the web. I made 3 for a little home decor centerpiece. I'll post that another day.
Thanks for visiting!

Father's Day

Hi Bloggers, I have a card to share with your today. This card is for my FIL. I followed several challenges for this. First was the "Aqua" challenge at Papercraft Star. If you've never played these challenges, you must try it. The challenges are broad categories so it doesn't limit you in the creative process. I love them!
I used this FABULOUS paper from Echo Park called This & That. The paper is sooooo pretty but with a masculine feel. My crafty friend Tammy sent it to me. Thanks, Tammy!

I used this week's Mojo Monday #243 sketch but I changed it up a bit as you'll see. I was playing from memory and forgot the vertical panel. Opps!
I also kept the City Crafter #111 challenge in mind which was to add a mode of transportation and a ticket.
I cut the truck with the Cricut cartridge "Heritage". The ticket is a Tim Holtz, the stamp set with the antique cars on it.
Thanks for visiting today!

Kim :)
