Jessica's Baby Shower, Ahoy it's a Boy!

Hi there Bloggers, I'm sharing photos from my Daughter, Jessica's, baby shower that I hosted  2 weeks ago at my home. She's having a boy so we settled on the theme "Ahoy, it's a boy!". I did borrow some ideas from pinterest but some things were my idea. These tags that I put on the favors were all me! I used a Waltzingmouse stamp set that matches a spellbinder die.  Name of Waltzingmouse stamp unknown. Then I used a Stampin Up nautical stamp set and used the anchor image, stamped off once so the red wouldn't be too bright. I wanted to stamp the Flourishes Thank you sentiment over it in Momento TB ink. (Tag Lines set). I punched a hole in the tag and tied some bakers twine around the cello bag that was stuffed with Lindor Truffles and white paper shreads. I wanted something simple.
This is a gold basket of favors waiting by the door for the guests.
I got the red and navy striped pennants attached to rope-y twine from Oriental Trading.

I purchased the decorative life ring from Oriental Trading as well!

This pic is dark but it the buffet food table before my Son-in-law brought the shower food over.

OK, NO, I did not make this banner. It was so gorgeous! I got it from a wonderful paper artist on Etsy because I didn't want to spend hours cutting all the pieces.
I wrapped the plastic red tableware in Navy striped napkins and wrapped life savers and twine around them. Totally lifted that from Pinterest. The decoration in the middle of the table was a length of rope-y twine with wooden buoys hanging from it.

I just LOVE the invitation I ordered for Etsy. So cute!!!

My card making Buddy, Diane, from Dianes Sweet Treats, from my local card club made this cake top and cupcakes for me.
A close up of the top. AND it was delicious!
Please see Part 2, here's a link.

Jessica's Baby shower, Part 2.

OK, Welcome to Part 2 of Jessica's baby shower. I could not figure out how to put all the photos in one post! LOL. Isn't this photo cool of the ballons looking sheer. There was a lot of light in the room but the photo came out dark.
A close up of the banner. So nice!
A photo of my kitchen and family room.
Cute nautical plates from Birthday Express.

Here she is! with her Husband Joel and her belly!

And Jessica with her college roommate, Liz. They are about 7 weeks apart in their pregnancies.
So that's it! I didn't get any pics of me with her that day. I was so busy having fun that I forgot to get pictures of myself with Jess. And I didn't get many pics of the guests either! Darn it!  It was a very fun and lively shower.
Thanks for visiting. Kim  :)

Mojo Monday 333

Hi Bloggers, Today I have a card for Mojo Monday #333, The Shabby Tea Room and other challenges. Also this is a virtual congrats to Jinny Newlin for her new baby Boy, Kaden!
I used the Mojo Monday Sketch this week and some adorable Echo Park paper. I used Verve's Emery (the elephant) and a Verve sentiment stamp. I actually don't like how my card came out because I used too many colors, I should have kept it to 3. I'm sure the recipient of my card won't care, tho. :)
The description of how I made it is pretty self explanatory, I just follow the sketch. Chalk ink was used with a sponge to color the yellow in the circle die cut, and MFT star die was used for the stars.

Curtain Call-Cozy Quilt

Hi Friends, I made this card for the Curtain Call Challenge Cozy Quilt and a few others. I pulled out my Kraftin Kimmie stamp called Lavender. I thought of her when I saw the Cozy Quilt Inspiration photo. I stamped it once on Copic paper and once on MME patterned paper. I colored some of the quilt blocks so that it resembled the quilt in the photo.
I cut out the quilted piece and adhered to the stamped image after I cut it out with a circle die. I love the colors of the paper with the image. Keeping with the quilt theme I added a wood veneer spool wound with bakers twine, some lace, pearl and the matted sentiment.
I kept the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge 259 in mind and used Polka Dots on my card. I wasn't going to have time to make a separate card for their challenge.

A few other challenges I'm link to:
Totally Gorguss -Spring and Twine

FTTC-Wood you be mine?

Hi friends, Happy Valentines Day. I was a bad girl this morning. I was supposed to be packing for a weekend trip to Vermont but what was I doing? Playing in my craft room! You see, I've had this gorgeous Flourishes stamp colored with Copics for over a week just sitting on my table. How could I leave town on Valentines Day without making it into one last Valentine? It would have been a crime. And I wanted so much to play in this weeks Timeless Tuesday Challenge, which was to add wood or wood type elements to your card. As it was, I missed last week's "Flourishes Red and Love" challenge.
I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch 332. I love it! Love the chance to use my MFT tag die.
Hubby just got home so it's time for a road trip! You guys can see how I made the card from looking at it right? If not, just email me.

This second card was a 10 minute card I put together to give my friend at the hotel tonight. I had to have a Valentine for her and had already mailed my stash of cards to family. PS-No snowmobiling for me! I can't risk getting hurt with my Grandchild on the way. Last year I fractured my ankle. Bye Bye

MFTWSC163

Hi all, Happy Valentine's Day. Well, the half way point in February. This winter has been tough, can't wait until Spring. We got 8 or 10 inches of snow today.
I had to hurry and make this card today so I'd have a card for my Hubby for tomorrow. I'm not thrilled with it but it's gonna have to do. I like the sketch but the paper is a little busy. I used the current MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 163 for the layout and MFT stamps I got last year. I used an older Bo Bunny paper pad , some PTI card stock, a corrugated die cut with a SU button on top. Per the sketch I added a few gems.

Bye for now, enjoy your day!

Washi Valentine

Hi Bloggers, I'm sharing a card today I made several months ago for my local Card Club. It was a washi tape challenge or was it a negative die cut challenge? No matter, it's both! I saved it to post this week because I figured it would fit alot of challenges and it does.
I'm not sure the brands of the Washi but I got most at Joannes. I used a spellbinder heart die and a Darice chevron embossing folder. I popped the whole panel up on foam tape, added twine and a button. Lastly I used a recollections stamp for the sentiment. It was fun to make and even more fun to have to give to some sweetheart of mine. :)
Some challenges I'm entering are:
RCC90-Washi tape
Tuesday Throwdown 182 - Rosies are red, violets are blue=valentine card?
Creative Card Crew-KISS Keep it Sweet and Simple
Cuttlebug Mania - Touch of Red (Used Cuttlebug and Darice Embossing Folder)
Papertake Weekly -With a Heart
The Pink Elephant Challenge -Happy Valentines Day
Eureka Stamps Challenge -Hearts

Have a great day!

Cardabilities 92,Curtain Call Feb 1

Hi Friends, today I have a card for the Cardabilities challenge 92. These sketches really intrigue me and allow me to make cards I wouldn't dream of making usually! PS: My card from sketch 91 is featured on the blog header at Cardabilites as we speak.  I love the scrappy style of this. I used 2 Flourished stamp sets that I recently won. The cup image is from "Grab a cup" and the coffee rings and splatters are from "So distressed". The sentiment is Flourishes "Tag lines".

To assemble the card, I used Bo Bunny Winter Wonderland paper. I cut the scalloped border with a punch, name unknown. I added a Wilton doily, May Arts twine, Recollections flower, a leaf from an ephemera pack in my stash, and Vintage Photo distress ink.

I had this image and paper in mind and then the Curtain Call challenge came out! The photo inspiration was perfect for this and influenced the shading I used on the cup. I'm pleased to submit this to that challenge.

Other challenges: Without Words Challenge Occupations (Barista)
Amusing Challenge Use a Doily
ABC Challenge E is for Embellishments (use 3) I used a doily, twine, flowers/leaf

WSC161, Jenny's Birthday

Hi Bloggie Friends, over the weekend I made a card for my niece's birthday coming up soon. I pulled out this sweet MFT Ala mode stamp set and colored her with Copics. I paper pieced the balloons with this cute MME Lime twist "Life of the party" paper which is used thru out the card. ( I adore this paper pad)

The tag dies is MFT, the star circle is Spellbinders and the alphabet stamps are Hero Arts. I stamped them on a half inch strip of kraft paper then cut them apart and matted them with white.
