Tuesday Throwdown 136- Digital Delights

Hi Bloggers, It's Tuesday again and time for the Tuesday Throwdown sponsored by Digital  Delights! This weeks challenge is "Thinking of you". I chose Chef Luigi and made my Nephew (the chef) a birthday card. I wanted to say thinking of you on your birthday but it didn't work out. If you look close you'll see thinking of you stamped on my card. Chef Luigi is colored with Copics and popped up on the sketch. I'm lovin the October Afternoon design paper with a chalkboard design.

Kraftin Kimmie,Timeless Tuesday and more

Hi there! No time no blog, well, a week but that's long for me. I made parts of this card last week for the Anything Goes challenge at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps but didn't make it so as luck would have it, my sweet girl, Sofie, fits this week's challenge called Fussy Cut. Just fussy cut an image for you card!
Sofie is dressed up like my friend Carla complete with sassy short hair and her signature martini! Can't wait to send this off to her. I used the "Little Black Dress" Basic Grey pad along with some red and black card stock. She needed a paper pieced leopard dress from the same paper as well. I used the Sweet  Sketch Wednesday sketch and added elements that fit several challenges from this week. See Links below.

SSS178-Guest Designer!

Hi Friends, I'm so excited to share that Karen G. asked me to Guest Design for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch 178!! Yippee! When Karen sent me the sketch I had to put on my thinking cap and come up with something I'd be proud of. I don't know about you but I find simple sketches harder than ones with lots of layers and elements. But I found a way to add enough detail to make me happy!!
OUT FOR PUBLICATION
Since I just received this gorgeous floral stamp set from Flourishes called "Roses are red", I had to give it some Copic love. The sentiment stamp is also Flourishes called "Inside and Out You" stamped with CTMH Black. After I colored it and hand cut it out, I popped it up on top of my, also new, "Cheery Lynn Doily" die cut from " MME paper Lost & Found Market Street". I dry embossed the green "Crate Paper Random" paper with "Victoria" Cuttlebug folder, sanded it, and distressed it with Ranger Antique Linen distress ink. The finishing touches were machine stitching, a couple of black gems and an "Offray" sweet orange gingham bow.

Verve Stamps Choc.card

Oh, I'm under the gun today, Friends. Just have a little time to post this card this morning so I'll keep it brief. My last Valentine's day card and I'm tickled with the chocolate bar I made with Spellbinder Squares! The photos are not the best. I hope you can see. I just cut a rectangle with my paper trimmer, added some die cut and embossed squares, and wrapped silver metallic paper around it.
The fabulous sentiment is Verve from the Love's the flower (?) set. Paper: Crate Paper-Fourteen, Heart Doily: unknown, maybe Wilton, CS: PTI, Brown Ink: PTI, Red Ink: Momento Ladybug Red, Dewdrops.

Tootles!

Chalkboard.Card

Hi there friends! I've got another valentine card to share. I had to try the Chalkboard Technique that many crafters are trying. This is my take on it. Gosh, it doesn't look this blurry at home!
I used my new Flourishes "Just my Type" stamp set that I won in January which has great text for this technique.
As you can see it's quite simple because I'm considering giving it to my hubby. The Carta Bella-Devoted paper does the work on this card. The image is just a rectangle with trimmed corners cut with the cloud crop-a-dile tool. I used a pin and design paper to make the fish tale element from the sketch and left off the circle element to keep it simple. A hearts Cuttlebug embossing folder was used on the background.
Thanks for visiting and I'll be back tomorrow with one more Valentine. Have a sweet day! Kim :)

Tuesday Throwdown 134-Cutting Cafe

Hi There! Happy Tuesday and welcome to my Tuesday Throwdown post. We are sponsored by the Cutting Cafe this week. I picked out this cute ladybug set called Cute Critters. My brother calls my niece "ladybug" so for her 3rd birthday, I thought I'd make this up for her. I added the eyelashes and smile to the bug's face and thought she could use a little flower on her head for the occasion. She's colored with Copics and the glass is Prisma Pencils.
The Cutting Cafe file was easy to use. I just printed the pdf file on design paper and on copic blending paper. (sentiment circle).
Note: I just printed the page on copy paper, saw where the image was placed on the paper, Adhered a 6x6 piece of paper over the copy paper with ATG, and then ran it thru the printer again.

Paper: Fancy Pants, Cryogen White and Papertrey CS
Ink: Printer and Copics
Misc: Ribbon: Jilly Bean Soup, Flower Punch:Unknown, Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug, Gems: Recollections

Flourishes-Pick 1 Challenge

Hi Friends, What to do during a Blizzard? Make cards, of course! I decided to play in the new Flourishes release challenge. You pick one sketch, one color palette and one embellishment from the list they provided. Link below. I love Flourishes stamps but I'm not lovin this card. It didn't come out as planned, which happens some times.
Anywho, the paper is Oct. Afternoon-Woodland Park. A few sets of spellbinders, Some PTI twine, a basic grey button round out the design. I sponged with Ocean Oasis Versamagic chalk ink. The blue ink is Momento Paris Dusk.
Thanks for visiting. :) Pray for me that I don't loose power. Below is a pick of my poor hubby clearing the driveway. I'm sure you've heard the northeast is having a blizzard.

Mojo, TSG, and Others

Hi Friends, I'm back with a card for several challenges. Let's see if I make the deadlines. Life gets in the way of challenges sometimes!! LOL. :) I wanted to play in my friend Tracy's There She Goes challenge this week, which was to use woodgrain on your project. (Hi, Tracy!)  I used woodgrain paper from MME Fiddlesticks.
I also wanted to play in the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 205 challenge which is "Vintage". I hope this fits the bill. Isn't the rosebud stamps pretty? I won the Flourishes January Release with one of my recent cards!!! WooHoo. The Thank you stamp is from Flourishes but not in the Jan. Release.
So, I'm in a Card Club now at my local scrapbook store. ( Wiggles and Giggles, Wethersfield, CT) Our club meets once a month and I am meeting all kinds of nice women. In February, we are have a card crop and we are giving our cards to the their fundraising event for the Heart Assoc. I plan on donating this card (and others) to this event.
Here's a list of Challenges:

I tried to do Clean and Simple but got carried away, as usual, can't do CAS!!! (or don't want to).
