Guest Designer at Phindy's Place

Hi Blog friends! I'm so excited to be guest designer this week for Phindy's Place. I won the guest designer spot with this card. Thanks for the honor!
Phindy's place has the most adorable digital images, including the one I used here. When I saw this image about 6 months ago, I said "aawwwww" and kept it in mind until I had a reason to use it. I had a white eyelet covered bassinet exactly like this for my daughters so the image was extra special to me. I had to use white eyelet trim on the card to mirror the image. And how about the cute kitty and doggie! So sweet. This is something my cat would have done way back when my kids were small.

When I saw this sketch challenge, my thoughts turned to how I could incorporate the image, the eyelet trim and a baby theme. I had fun dreaming about it, and woke up at 6:30 this morning with blue gingham on my mind! Do you ever create in your head when you are not in your craft space? I do it all the time.:)

This photo shows how I colored the image twice with prismacolor pencils and oms and popped it up for some dimension and visual interest. It wasn't so bad cutting out those ruffles!!! I put some tiny pearls on the bows. If you double click the photo, you may be able to see them. The rectangle is popped up on foam squares too.
This was a fun sketch challenge this week. Let's see what you do with it!

Valentine.Card

This card came out so cute! I used a Phindy's Place digital image called "Love Entwined". I made this card for my daughter for Valentine's Day. As usual I used Prismacolor pencils and oms to color the image. I sponged around the image with Antique Linen distress ink. I just love the look of spellbinder dies for cutting shapes. And the look of the embossing on the edge of the shape.

Mojo173.TSG

Hi all, I enjoyed this sketch, it was fun. I won this paper and embossing folder from a random drawing from leaving a comment on Mona Penalton's blog. Thanks Mona! I used the cute puppy image from There she Goes! stamp set. I also bought some yummy gray cardstock after reading in the newest Papercrafts mag. that gray is a trendy color right now. So pretty. TaTa for now. Kim

Baby.Boy.Card

Hi all, Another baby was born to my co-worker last week so I was inspired to make this card. I had a hard time with this, it took hours, pouring over my paper choices and a layout. I cut the train pieces first not knowing how I was going to arrange them on a card. I usually don't do that. The size and shape of the card changed many time before I settled on this. I used alot of older supplies, I was happy to do that.

I used Cricut cart. New arrival for the train, and SB for the scallopped circle. The paper is from DCWV, the very first scrapbook paper stack I ever bought! I use it for scrap and testing cuts but I really liked this light blue plaid so I used it. My N.Y. Resolution is to "Buy less, create more". (hehe, not so specific).
I made the train into a little pull toy by adding some red/white twine with a little bead in the end. So cute!
The sentiment is a MSE rub on.  Kim:)
Challenges:

Mojo.172.Baby.Card

This is my take on this week's Mojo Monday Sketch 172. I made it for a co-workers new bundle of joy.
The paper and diecut onesie are K&Co, ittsy bittsy collection. Card stock, ribbon, lace, buttons are from my stash.
More posts later! Kim
