Beach.Scene.Card

Hi Peeps! How do you like my beachy card? It's very striking in person. I made this card with a few challenges in mind and to have a multi-purpose card in my stash. I could use it for a lot of occasions.

I'm playing in the Papercraft Star-Water Challenge this week and the Tuesday Throwndown-Tropical Paradise Challenge. I purchased the digi stamp at Sweet & Sassy Stamps store and printed it out of Copic X-press blending cardstock ( I think that's the name of it). I colored it with quite a few copics. Still practicing the blending!

I cut out the scene with a Spellbinder die and layered it on a rectangle of sand printed paper from an old DCWV stack. Then layered some Basic Grey Hello Luscious paper on top of Kraft CS. Raffia was wrapped around and tied in a bow, love how it looks like dried beach grasses, and topped it with a prima flower and wood button. I popped up a second colored layer for the umbrella on foam tape. Last of all, added a sentiment that is from a set that's older than dirt! Manufacturer unknown. (Sketch is Mojo Monday from a few weeks ago)
I'll also enter this in:

Birthday card with Charlotte

Hi everyone! TGIF. huh?! Look at Charlotte and her cute, creepy little dolls! They are soooo cute! I used to shy away from these Kraftin Kimmie stamps cuz I didn't believe I could color them, but just like everything else, if you just try, it turns out fine!!  Time to get a few more Copics, you'd think 86 is enough but it's not, hehe.

This card is for my niece's upcoming birthday, she likes quirky things so I thought I'd use Charlotte for her card. I bet she'd like it better if I colored it "goth and dark". :) Just love the colors on this card. I used a new Echo Park pad, the name escapes me! I also used Mojo Monday 250 as the sketch. I found this cute heart brad in my stash so I thought I'd add it along with a button. No sewing on my card today. I was pressed for time.

I will enter this in the Lots of Dots Challenge at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps and the Button Challenge at Phindy's Place. Also in the Ribbon Carousel Challenge -Color me Happy challenge.
Have a nice weekend everyone! Hopefully soon I can show you a picture of my daughter's new puppy. She's picking in up from the breeder after their vacation next week. Tootles!

You scream, I scream...

Hi all, how's your summer going? My card today is very summer-y! I colored up the adorable Mo Manning digi image called Summer Girl. She's very cute with her fish-y glasses! I used Deconstructed Sketch 60 and the Color Dare Challenge week 200 which is over now.
I'm playing in the Papercraft Star 104 challenge this week which is to use Ice Cream in your card. This week's Tuesday Throwdown 107 is to include clear elements on your card. My clear element is this girl's cute sunglasses.

Here's a close up of the coloring. I used 28 Copic markers on this! It was too many to photograph.
I used Echo Park's Splash 6x6 pad. I hand cut the tag and added a stapled ribbon on top.
Having trouble with my camera, blurry pics. :(

Thanks for visiting today!

A Happy Hello

Hi all, I'm happy I got to use my Copics last night. The more I use them, the more I LOVE them. So fun!!
I made this card in hopes that I may win a Guest Designer spot with Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Design Team. Details are on their blog. I am also playing in their challenge which is to use your FAVORITE Kraftin Kimmie (136) Stamp. Well, I am very new to these adorable stamps and the 5 that I have are all my favorites! But I chose this one Speedy the Turtle. It's just so darn cute!

I'm also playing in the Papercraft Star-Use a Sun challenge 103 so I added a MFT sun die cut. The sketch I used was this week's Mojo Monday sketch 249. The sentiment is Flourishes Tag Lines.

Shabby Baby Card

Hi blog friends,
I combined a few challenges to make this cute baby card. I don't have any left in my stash so I thought I'd remedy that while playing with some pretty paper and notions! I was dying to get back to my craft room after a short vacation.
The Kraft Journal's challenge this week is Rock a Bye Baby. I have been wanting to cut this adorable baby carriage from the Cricut Heritage cartridge so I did just that, layering MME "Lost and Found" DS paper over Kraft. I used this week's Deconstructed Sketch 59 and the lovely "Shabby Tea Room 122 Elegance & Lace" inspiration colors of Kraft, White/Cream, Pink and Lace. I had this last bit of lace to add to the card. I don't know where I got it, maybe Joanne's.
I am also playing in There She Goes challenge this week which is to include sewing, real or faux. I zigzag stitched around the outside of the layered panel. That adds to the shabby-ness as well as the muted colors, twine and pearls. This week's Ribbon Carousel challenge is Buttons and Bows. I think I should have used a color other than black for the sentiment. Lesson learned.
Thanks for visiting today, stay tuned for another card this week!
Hugs, Kim

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day!!!! I hope everyone has a great holiday with family and friends! Of course , I had to make a patriotic card and use the beautiful Authentique paper pad, Glory. Ooohhh, it's so pretty, even though I cut off the distressed edges. What? Yeah, I don't care for very distressed edges. Crazy, right?
I was pressed for time because I'm leaving/ or already left for Block Island, R.I. I will schedule this to post in the future. Since I was packing I needed to make a relatively quick card where I didn't need to color an image. ( I'm slow so NO card of mine is ever quick, LOL!!!)

So I decided to let the paper do the work and use this great sketch from The Sweet Stop Challenge 165. All the paper is from Authentique plus the Bazzill Kraft and the PTI cream CS. I cut 2 ovals with the small and large petite ovals from Spellbinders. I added a few panels  and a strip that was edge punched. Some blue and white bakers twine was layered on beige satin ribbon with a cute red heart button that was waiting to be used on the perfect occasion. The left upper corner was adorned with a few gems. I picked up a new TPC patriotic stamp set at Michael's and used the word "proud".

Thanks for visiting! I'm going to miss my craft supplies while on vacation. Oh well, see you next week!!!!
Kim
