Nautical Card

Hi Friends, This will be a quick post so I can make the deadlines for a few challenges today. For my card I used a sweet MFT Ala Mode stamp and some distress inks. I stamped her with Verifine Black ink on Ranger Distress Water Color paper.
I used Tattered Rose for the skin and Antique Linen for the hair. The rest of the colors are Faded Jeans, Scattered Straw, Pumice Stone and Tumbled Glass.

The colors were inspired by the ColourQ 296 Challenge this week.
I included the graphic from The Challenge which I had in mind when making my card but missed it.

Lawn Fawn Blog Hop

Hi Friends and Lawn Fawn Lovers, I'm thrilled to be joining the other talented artists in today's Coffee themed blog hop! I'm glad you stopped by!

It took me a few weeks to come up with an idea for my card, plus I wanted to buy the "Love you a Latte" stamp set. It was not a problem because it's so darn cute!
I wanted my card to have a summer feel so I went with this brightly colored striped paper from Echo Park. I stamped the cute "to go" cups and coffee beans randomly on Kraft paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and again on the striped paper. I fussy cut the sleeves and adhered on the stamped cups.

Then I took the whole piece and die cut it with a WPlus9 and again with a SB oval. A mug from the set was stamped and die cut for the focal point of my shaker. How cute is the mustache face? Also I stamped a sentiment from the set. I die cut craft foam as a base for the shaker and put in Doodlebug brown sequins (makeshift coffee beans!). And there you have it!

So, Guess what? There are lots of Prizes to be won!!! All you have to do is comment on the following blogs. Winners will be chosen by unique comments so please don't copy and paste the same comment over and over. You have until 11:59PM EST on June 28th. Winners will be announced on the Lawnscaping Blog sometime after the 28th.

Here are the Blog Hop Sponsors. Their links are below the badge if you'd like to visit.

Thanks for stopping by! Please give the other hoppers some love!

Funky Hats

Hi Friends, Just a quick post to share my Merry Monday 164 card today. The challenge is "Funky Hats" so I dug out this little guy to ink up. He from a Recollections set from Michaels. I colored him with Copics to match this scrumptious Bo Bunny Altitude paper. The colors are GORGEOUS! Some people don't like Purple, I LOVE it!

Per the Retro Sketch 169 I set about trimming my papers, die cutting my image, wrapping some twine, adhering some wood veneer snowflakes and stamping the sentiment from a Hero Arts set. I had to leave the little element at the top off because I forgot about it while I was stamping the sentiment, then it wouldn't fit.

The Card Concept 37

Hey there! Here's my take on The Card Concept 37  Butterfly Effect challenge. My local card club had an emboss resist challenge. I heat embossed Winged Beauties from MFT with White embossing powder on water color paper. Then I water colored the background with Distress Inks. Some of the colors are from the newer releases like Abandoned Coral, Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon. The not so new ones are Scattered Straw and Seedless Preserves. Aren't the colors yummy?

The sentiment and word die are Simon Says Stamp. I had fun but still am not getting the results I'd like with water coloring. I'll keep trying tho because it's fun! Some sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh finish it off.

Lawnscaping 108

Hi Friends, I have a challenge card today for the Lawnscaping-Stars-and-Stripes challenge. Although the photo for the challenge has red white and blue, it's not mandatory, you just have to have stars and stripes. I used the newly released set "I'm so Jelly" stamps and dies. OH MY GOSH, they are sooooo cute! I went to a class at a papercraft store about an hour from my house last week. I bought this set and got to play with others from the release. How fun!

I used Kathy Waffle's sketch file sketch and some cute Doddlebug paper. I used some vellum behind my Jellies, kind of like bubbles. (MFT Stitched circle dies).

For the Curtain Call Challenge, I took the turquoise and sand colors from the inspiration photo and the beach scene is where the starfish and jellyfish are.

Sweet Sunday Sketch 271

Hey Friends, Last weekend we celebrated Father's Day early along with some June birthdays, we have many in our family! So I had to whip up some Father's Day cards quickly! For me, the quickest way to do that is to pick out a great sketch, a 6x6 paper pad, some matching embellies and a sentiment stamp.

I got to work making 2 similar cards, completing each part in duplicate, just changing the paper and colors. Altho these are simple, they made quite an impact IRL. The cute Echo Park "Boy" paper and the sketch did all the work. The sentiment is from Inky Antics, the wood veneers are Studio Calico.

Some challenges for these cards are as follows:

Thanks for visiting AND one more thing!

What is this photo below,  you ask? Last weekend at our party was the Belmont Stakes, We were really hoping American Pharoah would win the triple crown! (Yeah, he DID!)
So I made these cute jockey shirts out of card stock, one for each horse, and we had a little betting game going on! Everyone paid a dollar and randomly got assigned a jockey/horse. I gave out these little favors for my guests to cheer on the horses during the race. It was FUN!!! And my MOM won the pool!

Thanks again for coming by.....

Lawnscaping 107

Hi there, My cute Critters are having an evening picnic with a marshmallow roast! I think they may have their blanket too close to the fire! ha ha ha. The current Lawnscaping Challenge 107 is to use critters.

Easy enough, cute critters are their claim to fame. I used the Love you S'more set for this card. I bought it with my daughter in mind. She loves S'mores. There's a cute s'more image in this set which I colored and put on the inside.

So, the stamped images were colored with Copics, The sky was sponged with Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. The grass was cute with LF Hillside Border dies. The outside edge was die cute with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die. I heat set the sentiment with white embossing powder. Wink of Stella was added to the fire and the moon.

Retro Sketches 166

Hi Friends, Originally I was inspired by the ColourQ #292 colors and the fact that I wanted to use these dies that hadn't been used yet. But life got in the way and I missed linking it to the ColourQ challenge. These dies are Wplus9 have the cutest scalloped rectangle die that comes with. (The reason I bought the set.)
I noticed that the Retro Sketch challenge #166 would fit the cluster of clouds and rainbow I had made so I finished up the card with that sketch. I don't have the matching stamp set for these dies so I used a SSS stamp set for the "sending" sentiment. The paper is Doodlebug, the punch might be Fiscars and the sunshine word has Wink of Stella and glossy accents on it. Super pretty IRL. I used some craft foam to pop up the right side panel.
