CR84FN69

Hi there, At first I was stumped with this color palette but then it came together ok. I rather like how it came out. It will be for my stash, for the next woman in family with a birthday.

I used the Zinnia stamp set from Flourishes. I'm glad I got a chance to ink it up finally. It's so fun to color flowers with copics, lots of opportunities for shading.
The paper is K&Co. It's a pretty 12x12 paper pack that has all tone on tone prints, don't know the name right now, but it looks like beautiful fabrics. I won this spellbinder die set from some blog candy. Thanks Kristi! A MS butterfly punch, some ribbon, recollections bling and a BG button finish it off.
I dread going back to work after my restful vacation but I must! Gotta fund my crafting addiction, right!
Happy New Year!
Kim

SSS191

Hey Friends, I'm so enjoying my vacation. I am making cards everyday and loving it. So, I tried to color African American skin. Did I do it right? This is for a young girl who spent Christmas in the hospital. Poor girl. She was very sick but doing better now.

I used The Sweet Stop sketch 191 challenge for the sketch. The stamp is, of course, Pure Innocence, MFT, Fancy Pants paper, doodletwine, gems. The flowers have stickles but it wasn't captured very well in the photo.

Let it snow

Hey Bloggers, It's almost New Years Eve! Actually not one of my favorite holidays because I don't like to stay up late. I am going to a neighbor's house party so I may leave before midnight. They know me and will expect me to go to bed!
This card is for them. The "Let it snow" sentiment is because our neighbors, my hubby and I just bought snow mobiles. We got a little snow yesterday and are supposed to get another 3-6 inches tomorrow.
I used a TSG sketch from a few week's ago and had a few challenges in mind for this card. I'll be submitting this for the Papercraft Star "Snow" challenge. Also for the Sentimental Sunday challenge-Focus on the Sentiment. Edit-Added this link-TSG-Last minute Christmas  Raise the BAR-Snow

MFT

Hi Friends, Happy 3 days after Christmas. I'm on vacation from work until Jan.2 and I am so thrilled to be relaxing and having time to craft!!
My husband's cousin and his wife have been having some medical problems lately so I whipped up this card for them. I've had this cute image colored up for months waiting to be made into a card. She is a Heather Ellis digi stamps. The sentiment is from another MFT stamp set, the one with the PI girl with the umbrella.
I used the current MFT sketch. The paper in from Echo Park, the card stock is PTI. Dies are spellbinders.

Headed to Newtown,CT

Hi friends, I used the Deconstructed Sketch to make this card, I colored up the image but it took me a while to make it into a card. The whole Newton tradegy really made me sad and although I wanted to send a card, I had a hard time finishing it. I'll bet they will receive thousands.
Anywho, the stamp is Kraftin Kimmie, I believe the paper is Echo Park, Cardstock and button is PTI. Sentiment is Hero Arts, I used Doodle Twine baker's twine and Martha Stewart Punch.
Thanks for visiting.

TT126 & DT Call

Hi Everyone, Are you all busy with the holidays? I am. Still making Christmas/Holiday cards tho. I wanted to play in the Tues. Throwndown Challenge named "White Christmas" so I inked up the fantastic Flourishes Ice Skate stamp. I kept the layout simple and mostly white and as you can see, just added a gingham bow and rhinestones. I'm getting this just under the wire for the challenge.

I would love to be a design team member so please consider me, Tues. Throwdown!
Thanks, Kim :)

Last week's mojo 269

Hi Peeps, I missed every darn challenge deadline last week that I made this for! It's Mojo 269. I just left off the little fishtail element because it didn't fit right and added some MFT die cut stars. It was for my Son-in-law's birthday. I used Simple Stories Birthday Line. Boy, is it distressed. Too distressed for my taste but it makes a good masuline card. The stamp is from Flourishes. The bling is recollections. As you can see in the next photo, it is an easel card. Three challenge blogs had easel cards last week!
I embossed the green paper with the birthday words cuttlebug folder and sanded it. A spellbinder die frames the focal point sentiment.

I rather liked it after it was done and my daughter and her husband loved it. They thought I was so clever that it is an easel! Must do more of these, they are great to put on a shelf, mantel or desk to remind the birthday boy or girl of their special day.
Tootles!

December Daily Cover

Hi there! Since I don't have a card to play in the Papercraft Star weekly challenge-Holiday Greenery- this week, I thought I'd share my December Daily mini album cover. It has Holiday Greenery! The greenery and Poinsettias are Prima. I think the ribbon is Kaisercraft, lace is Melissa Frances.
The small pom-pom trim, bells and brad is from my stash. The paper and stickers are Simple Stories.

I decided to give a Dec. Daily a whirl. I know I'm doing it different than most. Mine will be more of a mini album. The pages are made with envelopes. Now that I see how others are doing it I wish I had purchased the album with clear page protectors ( like project life only smaller). But it's OK, this is totally an experiment to see if I can actually keep up!
I'll share more pages as I go. Wish me luck!

Shouting it from the roof tops!!!

Hi there Friends! I can finally, officially share my PUBLISHED card with you!

I think it was May when I got notified that one of my cards would be in the November 2012 issue of CARDS! That was a happy day for me. Now that December 1st is here, I can share it.

If it weren't for playing in weekly challenges, this card would have never come to be. I combined two challenges. One was Papercraft Star's "French" challenge and Flourishes "Favorite" challenge. I used Flourishes Cherry Blossom stamp set and added MME paper with an Eiffel Tower on it for the French part.
Cards Magazine had a call for cards with "Quotes" on it. That's why they chose it. I'm surprised they did because at the time I didn't notice that they rarely pick up a Copic marker-colored card.
But they did, YIPPEE!!!!

So here it is, in all its glory! I hope there will be others.....

SSS186 And other challenges

Hi Bloggers! I made a Nutcracker Christmas card to share with you. Since I am using a Sweet and Sassy digital image I thought I'd use the sketch on the sister blog, the Sweet Stop for it. This is another card I started last week but didn't feel well enough to finish it. I added a feather to play in the Cuttlebug Spot challenge but missed it. Gotta have a feather in the Nutcracker's hat!
The paper is, of course, Graphic 45, Nutcracker Suite 8x8 line. I zigzag stitched around the squares and straight stitched around the center panel. He's colored with copics and gold flat back beads and twine were added. Links below.

Mitten Tag for Jess

Hi Blog Friends, Not feeling too hot, battling a cold and a stiff neck. It put a damper on my Thanksgiving weekend but I'll got thru it. I missed the Color Throwdown Challenge from last week. This mitten shaped tag was made for that challenge. Oh well, onward and upward!
Beside the color challenge, I was inspired by 2 things. One was Robin's Creative Cottage mitten tag ( check hers out, it's gorgeous!) and the other was PTI Make it Monday video on YouTube ( layered vellum).

I combined the 2 ideas to make my tag. I put it on my Daughter's birthday present last week. She's partial to mittens and I always think of her when I see one! I put a loop of twine on the back so she can hang it on her tree, if she wants.
Like Robin's, I used Joys of the Season Cricut Cart for the mitten but then cut it again with PTI vellum to layer over some snowflake confetti. Then just layered on some goodies, seam binding, holly leaves with stickles, lace, bell, PTI Tag, twine and a Maya Road star pin. The paper, MME, is a bright turq. but the vellum tones it down quite a bit.

Aren't the layers yummy? I'm entering this in a few current challenges.

CR84FN

Hi There, I'm making alot of cards this week. I wasn't planning on making a card like this. It just evolved. I cut out these 8 gold reindeer with my cricut, the Christmas solutions cartridge. I was planning on making a clean and simple card with them for a mass produced bunch of cards. But I couldn't find a card layout I liked. I was going to use navy blue and white.

Then I saw the CR84FN challenge and decided to try a card with purple. At first I tried C&S again but it didn't work so I used the SFYTT sketch again. The paper is MME Lost and Found Christmas, some lace from RRR, gingham ribbon from Joannes, MFT stamp, MFT die, gold twine, flower from Michaels. It's so pretty and elegant in person.

KK Food or Drink Challenge

Hey there, I finally had a chance to join in Kraftin Kimmie's weekly challenge. AND I need a birthday card. This is Julie, what a cute birthday stamp. I colored this twice, the first time I dropped an ink pad on the fully colored, cut out image and ruined it. ugh!
I also used November Sketch for youb to try. I like it and I'm in the middle of making another card with the same sketch. Paper is Echo Park-So Happy Together. The rest is self-explanitory, ribbon, doily gems, sewing machine. Thanks for visiting, friends.

Mojo267 and TSG

Hi Peeps, I'm playing in a few challenges again today, There she Goes and Mojo Monday to be exact! Links are below.
Gosh, I love this TSG set. This is the third image I've used from the set as of late. So fun to color!
I've used last years MME's Christmas paper, forgot the name but I love it. Just give me pink and blue for xmas colors and I'm happy! I added a cute Recollections gem brad to my MFT Snowflake die cut. ( A must have) Twine and cardstock is PTI.
Have a good Day!

PCS-Sympathy

Hi Friends, How's your week going so far? I have been planning on playing in this weeks Papercraft Star Challenge which is to use Gray and Yellow so here it is! That's what great about PCS, they post their challenges ahead of time so you can plan ahead.
The dark cardstock is gray not black. I used some MME woodgrain doily paper and some other coordinating papers. The beautiful sentiment is Verve.
Since this challenge is due tomorrow I have to keep this short and sweet! See you soon for 2 other cards I'm working on. :)
Tootles!

PCS-Warm Beverage

Hi Bloggers,  I've been wanting to play with my new Simple Stories paper. It's so pretty. I bought the 6x6 pad, a few 12x12 pieces of paper and several of the sticker and alpha sheets that coordinate. This little cup of Christmas cheer is one of my favorites. A warm beverage is the theme of this weeks "Paper Craft Star" Challenge 119. I also used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge # 171.
Also submitting to Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge -Winter Holiday with Ribbon.

Mojo Monday Sympathy Cards

I found myself needing several sympathy cards so I turned to this weeks Mojo Monday 265 Sketch for a nice simple card. I didn't have time to spend hours on each.

I found this pretty BG Capella paper that I've been saving for something that I haven't made yet and it has such a nice understated print so I used it. Note to self: Quit hoarding, there is more paper in the stores! haha
The floral stamp and the sentiment are from a SU set. I added a diecut square, ribbon and a punched butterfly and called it a day. I needed them to mail easily.

So that's it. I hope everyone impacted by Storm Sandy is ok. I was lucky and didn't loose power. What a relief after 5 days of no power last year at this time. Bye for now!

TSG178

Oh Boy, are my Daughter and her boyfriend gonna squeal when they see this! Well, maybe only in my mind but they love snowmobiles. I love how this cute card came out. First, an adorable sketch which was fun to make using last years Nordic Holiday by Basic Grey.
I used 1 inch stripes of paper adhered to a scrap then punched the bottom with a scallop punch. I colored up the adorable doggie using Copics, of course, and cut him out with some nesties. If you guys haven't tried using wax paper with your dies, YOU MUST!!!

My first cut with the black paper ripped as I was wrestling to get it to come out of the die. Second time it slid right out with wax paper sandwiched between the paper and die.
Give this Fun TSG Sketch a try! It's fun....

A close up. Should have put Glossy Accents on his goggles, maybe I will add it. :)
Have a good day! I think I'll do one more Halloween card then I have some November birthdays to work on. ( And Christmas)

Halloween Card

Happy new week! I'm here with a Halloween card for many challenges. I also made a treat box for one challenge, hope I didn't miss the deadline. I used a Deconstructed Sketch from several weeks ago. The image is a Recollections stamp set. Paper is K&Co, a couple of dies were used and some ball fringe and ribbon.

Spooky, Kind of...

Hi Crafty Friends! I am just thrilled to pieces with this card! I'm trying so hard to get the principles of shading and light source with my Copics. (After I photographed this, I finished the line and shading under her shoes!)

Would you believe that this is my first time making clouds on the background with a template and ink??? I know! I never tried it before but was inspired by the fabulous Shannon White, who does it so well. For the template I cut out a MFT cloud die. I made a mask of the witch image and gave it a whirl. I love it!! This DARLING witch and sentiment is Kraftin Kimmie Haunting Hilda. Gosh, she's adorable!!   KK Spooky Challenge

I used the The Sweet Stop 180 sketch this week. I also used the ColourQ color challenge. The paper is K&Co and so is the cute candy banner. I punched a few MS bats and used a fiscars spider web punch which is smaller in scale than the MS one. The ribbon is Jillibean Soup which I've had for a few years and never used it! This card fits the RCC73 Challenge-Halloween Spirit too.

I hope you enjoyed peeking at my card cutie! Have a great week. :)

Autumn Card

Hi Friends, Just a quick post to share an Autumn card with you. I haven't had a chance to play with Fall colors so I had to make this. I found out I'm short on Autumn themed paper, good heavens!
This paper was from a couple years ago. The sentiment is a Verve stamp. The wheat image behind and the maple leaf is Inkadinkado, I think. It's a pretty Fall set.
I made this for several challenges listed below.

TSG and More

Hi Crafty Friends, How's you week going? I'm playing in several challenges with this card. I started with Mojo Monday Sketch 262 and used There She Goes Photo Inspiration. Such pretty colors!!!

I also made this for Theresa's Winslow's birthday Link here. She has 2 major milestones in her life this month and is offering Blog candy. You can see her post here. I, myself, have just passed the 6 year mark, Breast Cancer free!

The stamp set is from Joanne's, not sure of the maker. When I first started card making, I didn't know the importance of saving the packaging. I will have to go on an internet hunt to find the manufacturer. The sentiment is Inky Antics. I used EP So Happy paper, a recollection flower, and baker's twine.

Flourishes has a challenge to decorate the inside of the card this week for one of their release challenges.
Sassy Cheryl's 136 challenge is Birthday.
Simon Says challenge is Dies and Punches.

Hope you all have a sparkling day!!!

KK Skull Challenge

Hi Peeps, I'm playing in the Kraftin Kimmie Weekly Challenge 149 this week. Krafty Girl, Cheryl chose a "skull" challenge where you must include some kind of skull on your project. Not too hard! I colored up Smee for the occasion but used the skull and crossbones from Cutthroat Lizzie for the accent. Smee was fun to color and I just adored the Disney movie, Peter Pan, not the cartoon but the other one with Dustin Hoffman. That's where I first heard of Smee.
I used Bo Bunny Timepiece paper on a 5.5 by 5.5" cardstock base. I used an older Deconstructed sketch and moved the circle. Zigzag and straight stitching were added along with some great tassel trim. I hand cut the tag and punched the corners. The brad I received in a prize pack from Flourishes, don't know the brand.
The strange pinkish color on the treasure chest is stickles which didn't photograph well.

Here's a few more challenges. Papercraft Star-Anything goes

Enjoy you week, everyone!!

Pink Awareness Card

Hi Bloggers, I created a card for several Pink challenges this weekend. The first one was the Colour Q Challenge 157. I used a Crafty Secrets Stamp and made a panel of stamped Bras!! I added rhinestones in strategic places all over the card. I believe the design paper is Echo Park and the rest of the cardstock is PTI. Twine is Doodlebug.
The card is loosely based on the Deconstructed Sketch 72. I had a plan in mind when I started that didn't work out so this is what I ended up with.
I am also playing in Flourishes 189 Pink Challenge. Lexi's Creations 75 has a Pink Challenge too.
I hope you all had a good weekend and I'll see you soon.

TSG175, Mojo 261

Hi Bloggers, I didn't think I could do it! Make a cute card without patterned paper! But they didn't say no patterned ribbon so that was my jumping off point. That and the adorable stamps set Snowy Days. Then I just built a color story with black, red, white and added teal.
After choosing a sketch it just fell together and I had so much fun making it! I didn't even mind that the stamp features SNOW. Brrrrr, YUCK! But snowmen are my favorite winter symbol. I just love snow men. Mostly the fake, warm kind!
Yeah!!!! I'm getting some holiday cards done!! I have about 7 made so far. I'm on the hunt for some inspiration to make some simple design for some mass-produced cards but haven't settled on one yet.
Not this one!!! Way to much going on to mass produce. Anyway, I digress.

With all the images that I had the pleasure of coloring this month, I feel my coloring skills have improved which is a great perk! This little cutie is Gabrielle and although she's not a birthday image per-se, I used her for my birthday card here. Hope my SIL likes it!

The Challenge this week is use your favorite so you all should be able to play, Won't you join us?
And don't forget to check out the Frugal Friday specials. They will be discounted all weekend so go check them out!

TSG174 and Fall Challenges

Hi Bloggy Friends, Time for me to get inky with some Fall stamps. This "There she Goes" stamps set has been sitting around waiting for me to use it. What a great couple of sets, Buckets of Love and the Buckets of Love Holiday Additions.

The Copic gods were smiling on me last night when coloring this. I'm pretty happy with it. And this sketch made putting the card together a breeze! I used Echo Park's Walk in the Park paper and some Kraft CS. I also cut my image out with some Spellbinder Rectangles and Scalloped Rectangles. To finish it off, some seam binding, a button, a leaf-shaped pin and twine were added.
Now I feel that Fall has arrived now that I made a fall card! Just have to pull out my Fall home decor stuff. :)

Color Throwdown.Niece's New Home Card

Hi Bloggers, I made a card for my Niece who just bought her first home. I used the current Color Throwdown 210 for this. I just love this Echo Park This and That paper pad. I'm surprised how much I reach for it lately!

I also used a cute Kraftin Kimmie Stamp called Bug Buddies 2 which I just received in the mail. I will enter it as a second submission to the Fall Colors challenge on the KK blog.  I already had one as a guest designer. The only reason I'm linking it up is that that more people see it!
I made up the design and didn't use a sketch. Hope you enjoyed looking!!!
Kim :)
