CQC#322 Happy New Year!

Hi Friends, I've missed you, blogging and card making. I've been working hard on a December Daily project. I'm on day 25 so almost done. I'm so thankful to be on vacation this week so I can play with paper. A few people on my Xmas card list didn't get card so I'm sending them a New Year card.

I followed the Colour Q 322 challenge and water colored the background with Cracked Pistachio distress ink then used gold Shimmer Mist to add the splatters of gold. A Wplus9 scalloped die (the negative piece) was cut from matte gold paper. The party hat is from "The Party" by Winnie and Walter, heat embossed with gold and clear powder over black pigment ink. The sentiment is Hero Arts Year Round Sentiments, Doodlebug black sequins, gold number stickers and a gold star.

Thanks for visiting day, don't give up on me. I'll be sharing cards now that December is over. :)

Guesting at "The Challenge"

Hi Friends! I'm thrilled to be joining the gals at "The Challenge" #52 this week. Thanks for inviting me. Take a look at the fabulous inspiration photo below and play along with us.

For my card I found inspiration from the Poinsettias and greenery to make a traditional rustic style .  Doesn't that Prima red poinsettia just pop against all those neutrals? I used some Bo Bunny paper, a Cherry Lynn doily die, a Penny Black sentiment heat embossed in gold and some trim and twine in a neutral color.

The most fun part of making this was heat embossing an older metal brad with gold embossing powder! It was fun to watch it melt on the metal.

I hope you enjoyed visiting today. Please check out The Challenge!

Some other challenges I'm submitting to are:

Simon Says Stamp Wed. Challenge -Christmas
Just us Girls -Red,Green,Gold
Fantasy Stampers -Traditional Christmas

Thanks for visiting!

Lawn Fawn and Share kindness

I pulled out my Lawn Fawn "Happy Feast" set to create a card for a couple challenges. I was thinking about Jennifer Mcguire's Handmade Kindness challenge for Children. I'm going to mail this to the kiddo's in the Card Shower, this and a few others cards in my stash. I'm hoping the kids will think the punny sentiment is humorous. :)

I'll be back later with more links but to get in on Jennifer's challenge I have to post this now! LOL.

Lawnscaping Challenge -In with Old. (I don't have any old Lawn Fawn Stamps since I just started buying them in 2015, my card stock used is old, does that count?)

Thankful

Hi Friends, I'm playing with some FUN Lawn Fawn sets to complete some challenges. I had fun making a fall themed card after all the Halloween cards I made.

I started with Sweet Sunday Sketch 293 for the layout. I stamped the LF "Thankful for you" pumpkins and sentiment on some patterned papers. And I stamped the tree, acorns and hearts from LF "Sweater Weather". Then I cut some clouds with the LF "Puffy clouds" die and pulled it all together for a little scene.

Challenges are:
Lawnscaping Challenge Thinking of you
Curtain Call Challenge Plaid and Plush
The Card Concept-43 -Thank/Fall (Collage?)

Bye for now!

CTD 367

Hey There, I'm playing in the Color Throw Down Challenge 367 today. Also The Challenge 49 was used for the sketch. I subbed the banner flags for my label shape. I'm in LOVE with this ephemra from Pink Paisley line, Cedar Lane. So many pretty embellies. I bought the paper too but didn't use it on this card. The paper is My Minds Eye.

I also had Jennifer McGuire's Share Handmade Kindness Week 1 challenge in mind to. The challenge is to send a card to a friend or family member. Mine is going to a friend.

Later, Gators!

Hey Friends, The Christmas card push is on, is it for you?

I'm playing with the Merry Monday Challenge 178 . The challenge is to make a card with Red and Gold. Following the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 422 (loosely), I made a A2 card base from Oatmeal card stock and added 2 mats using Bo Bunny's Christmas Collage paper.
I added a tag that was stamped with a sentiment from Waltzingmouse. A bow was added made from Lawn Fawn Gold bakers twine. I die cut the poinsettia from matte gold card stock (IRL it shines) with SB dies and added a golf pearl.

Fantasy Stamper Guest-Animal Antics

Hey there Friends! I'm guesting at Fantasy Stampers again today for their mid-challenge post. The challenge is Animal Antics. Why don't you play along? :)

I had to use my Lawn Fawn "Party Animals" set for this card cuz it's so cute! I also used Lawn Fawn Bannerific stamp and die for the sentiment. I tried the partial die cut technique that I've been seeing on you tube to spotlight my birthday animals. You can't tell because it's covered up but the circle is just 3/4's of a circle.

Behind it I sponged a piece of water color paper with 2 yellow distress inks. A variety of sequins were used to create a party feel. (Pretty Pink Posh, Lucy's, and Doodlebug) oh, and I added a silver twine bow.
I was inspired by Laura Bassen's SSS Meowy Christmas card  for the design and Melissa Denny's card (here) for the colors.

I had a few other card challenges in mind too.

Merry Monday 177, Guesting

Hi Friends, I'm playing along with the Merry Monday DT as a guest today! I was invited to join when I won the challenge last week (The Moose Challenge). Yippee! Such a nice bunch of ladies.

I used my Simon Says Stamp "Ornament" stamp set for the Christmas lights element of the challenge, stamped is various Memento ink colors. To fullfill the glitter portion of the challenge, I covered the bulbs with clear Wink of Stella glitter pen and then covered them with a layer of Glossy Accents.

The sentiment is from the same set, stamped with Tuxedo Black ink. The scalloped mat is Wplus9 and the stitched mat is Lil Inkers. I went CAS with this card.
Below is another photo that better captures the glitter and Glossy Accents.

Thanks for visiting!

A few challenges I'm playing are:

Guesting at Fantasy Stampers

Hi Friends, I'm guesting at Fantasy Stampers today for the Mid-Challenge of "Fright Night"! Or in my case "Halloween", LOL, I don't "DO" scary! So this is my submission. :)

Thank you for having me, Fantasy Stampers.

I used Mojo Monday Sketch 419 to put this together along with this adorable MFT Witch image from the "Witch way is the Candy" stamp set, colored with Copics. Then since the sentiment had the word candy in it, I had to use the cute paper from Pebbles (Boo collection). A piece of Darice purple bakers twine was used for the bow.

Challenge Links are below.

Merry Monday 175

Hey there Bloggers, I'm playing in the Merry Monday Challenge 175 today with a CA-UTE Moose stamp from Avery Elle. The challenge is to use a moose on your card.

I had to have this cute fellow and his cute woodland friends. The set it called "Snow Much Fun". I made a little make shift ice rink in the valley of my Lawn Fawn stitched hills die. For my trees, I used a SSS stamp set.

I sponged my sky with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and stamped the tiny snowflakes with the same ink. The sentiment from the same Avery Elle set is stamped in Momento Rubarb Stalk ink. Basic Grey paper Nordic Holiday was used for the background and cute sweater patterned I used for paper piecing.

Winnie&Walter WCMD Challenges

Hey Friends, I've got some World Card Making Day Challenge cards to share. I'm playing along with Winnie and Walter Challenges. OK, I stayed very close to the sketch and pretty much cased Gayatri's card, although I used Martha Stewart stamps instead of Winnie and Walter. I love it! BUT I had to try many times to get it to even look decent, this is probably the 5 or 6th try. I used Seedless Preserves Distress Ink for the sponged inking.

This is for Heather P.'s Challenge. The color challenge is Yellow, Mint, Kraft, Aqua.  Opps, I forgot the Kraft color as I was intently focusing on making this one several times as well before I could get it halfway decent. LOL! I used "The Party" stamp set by Winnie and Walter. The confetti stamped white panel is covering a water colored panel stamped with the sentiment. Then I added chevron washi tape to the top and bottom.

WCMD

Hey Friends, Saturday was World Card Making Day, as you know. I decided to pull out this retired Kraftin Kimmie Stamp called Haunting Hilda and play with some Distress Inks. I used a SU water brush tool and ink pads smooshed on a craft sheet. I regret stamping the bats at the top but, oh well. I was experimenting!

I used Mojo Monday Sketch 417 and used a some Lawn Fawn Paper (the purple), some American Crafts paper (the black) and Bazzill card stock.

Thanks for visiting!
