DS170

Hi friends, I'm here with a card today for a few challenges. I used a Peachy Keen Snowman set for this. I knew I wanted to color it with shades of Pink and Blue, it looks like a girl snow-person to me with those adorable eyelashes and bows on her hat!

After I colored it with Copics and cut it out, I used her as the vertical element from the Deconstructed Sketch 170. For the background I cut a rectangle and adhered strips of MME patterned paper across it diagonally. Then I just turned it over and trimmed off the excess. A vellum banner cut, some die cut MFT snowflakes and a silver pearl finished it off. A Hero Arts Xmas sentiment set was used for the sentiment.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hi all, I'm playing in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I stumbled upon the announcement of the hop when I was reading blogs last week. I saw all the cool prizes and great companies that were sponsoring the hop and decided to make a card to link up. The only requirement is to make a coffee themed card. Well, I could do that!

I pulled out my retired Flourishes coffee and tea set called "Grab a cup". I stamped the coffee cup with Momento Rich Cocoa and colored it with Copics. I stamped it again on kraft and cut out the sleeve and layered it on the cup. After I tied on a piece of twine and popped it on foam tape on top of a MFT stitched circle die.

I found some older paper in my stash to complete the MFT Wednesday Stamp Challenge sketch. The brown ribbon is PTI and the wood veneer arrow is Studio Calico.

Some questions that were posted on Facebook:

1. When did you start drinking coffee? I was about 25 or 30 years old before I started drinking it. I was a tea lover before that.
2. What is favorite brand (you can name up to three). New England Breakfast Blend is my favorite to make at home and Dunkin French Vanilla is my favorite at a coffee shop!
3. What is the most amazing coffee that you had? Remember where and when? I guess it was a pumpkin latte I had last year. I try not to drink designer coffees because of the calories. I like my home made coffee each morning the best.
4. If I don't drink my needed coffee, I will...Obsess about where and when I can get one, like this morning, I was out of creamer at home and won't drink it black so I shortcut my hair and make up routine so I could leave the house and go get some!

Card Concept 19

Hi Everyone, Today I have a card inspired by the colors at the Card Concept 19. I knew I wanted to use this cute Kraftin Kimmie stamp and also wanted to submit a card to The Card Concept challenge. My card id Clean and Layered. I also used Mojo Monday 364 to pull it all together.

I had fun coloring this without looking at how someone else would color it. I do that sometimes to see how others use light source but I just gave it a try and it turned out ok. The rest of the card is self-explanatory following the sketch.
Gotta run, got chores to do!

SS328

Hi Card Makers, Today I have a simple birthday card to share. I needed it quick so I left out the left panel on the "Sketch Saturday 328" sketch. I was really rushing to get this done for a party. You would think I'd have lots of birthday cards on hand but I have given almost all of them away lately. I'm going to have to start making 2 of each when I make a card. I could have added some sequins or something on the top but...I left it plain plus I think the balloon was screaming for a little twine bow but after 3 tries I gave up.

I think this Stampin Up set "Giggle Greetings" is so funny! Especially this cat, love it! It took but a few minutes to color him up with the Copic W's and R20 and the light C's for the ground. I layered on the paper, punched a border, die cut a circle and balloon and called it done.

Merry Monday 127 Christmas Bingo

Hi Friends,  I'm thrilled to be Guest Designing for Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge! I won the challenge last week and earned a guest design spot. Yippee! Thanks for inviting me, Ladies.

I was in the mood for non-traditional colors on this weeks card. I won this digital tag image set a few years ago. You can get it here iralamijashop. I especially love this little lskating girl dressed in pink so I set out to look for coordinating papers.

I found these Memory Box papers (Yuletide) that matched nicely. The tag needed a mat so I cut one with my trimmer, ran it thru my Xyron and added MS pink glitter.  To add to the vintage feel I used Kraft card stock for the MFT doily shape. Other embellishments include seam binding, twine, a button and gems.
I used the top row of the Bingo board, Sparkle, Patterned Paper and Embossing.

Won't you come join us this week for the Christmas Bingo Challenge????

Thanks for visiting...

Mojo 363

Hi Bloggers, I have a quick post to share before this challenge ends today. I use Mojo Monday Sketch 363 and Verve stamps to whip up this card I needed asap for a birthday.

I had to do a little surgery on the circle image, LOL. There was a spot on the bottom that I needed to cover up so I cut a second circle in half and glued it on and hid the seam with the ribbon. Sure glad it worked out or I would have had to start over.
I used Bo Bunny paper, name unknown to layer up this little cutie.

Merry Monday 126

Hi Crafty Friends, I am once again playing in the Merry Monday Challenge and a few others. I am really growing my card stash. Maybe I'll count how many I've made soon. I tried another clean and simple card because let's face it, they are easier to mail!

Since the MM challenge is to focus on the sentiment I pulled out my never been used Memory Box "Merry" die. I knew I wanted to use that die then I searched for a current sketch that would work with it and found this one from Techno Stampers. I tried dry embossing the white background but it made the card to busy so I stayed with a plain white CS. I just "heart" this BG snowman paper so much!
I added a few stars and called it done. (there is one on the patterned paper too but it blends in).
Oh, I layered 2 cuts of the word Merry on top of one another with Ranger Matte Medium! Ridiculously tiny die to try that with!

So that's it for this week. I hope to make a few Birthday cards this week too. I have 4 birthdays in the next 6 days.
Tootles!

Monochromatic Baby Card

Hi Friends, How are you this fine day? Today I'm sharing a card I made for a Monochromatic challenge at my Local Card Club meeting this coming Sunday. I looked thru my stash to get ideas for an all-one-color card and found this paper so, a baby card, it is!

At first I used a card stock that was similar in color to the patterned paper and it was sooooo boring.  As soon as I put this SU Island Indigo with the patterned paper it popped!

I used Mojo Monday # 360 Sketch from 8/25/14 and assembled all the layers and rounded the top right corner. A bow and a couple pearls finished it off.
A few challenges this fits are:

Merry Monday 125

Hi Cardmakers, Today I have this week's Merry Monday Challenge # 125 card. The challenge is to use some form of Transportation on a Xmas card. Oh, are my snowmobiling friends gonna squeal when they see this in their mail box!!! Of course, I don't snow mobile any more since I fractured my ankle 2 years ago! But I still go away for the weekend with them and make cards. (I digress)

Anywho, I used the sketch and color challenge from The Challenge #14. I stamped a retired There She Goes stamp on x-press blend it paper with Momento TB ink and colored with Copics.

I cut it out with my new favorite die set MFT Stitched Circles and per the sketch, just layered it up using a MFT snowflake die instead of a star. I used a gem brad from ions ago, manuf. unknown. and heat embossed the greeting with black embossing powder, Hampton Arts. I believe the EB I used is Lifestyle Crafts.

So, yea!, another Xmas Card for my Stash.
Tootles for now, Kim :)

PS, I didn't realize The Challenge 14 was supposed to be for a Special Teacher, sorry!

52 Christmas Card Throwndown -I used Blue, White and Silver of their colors choices.

Simon Says Piggy Birthday

Hi Friends, Today I'm sharing a cute birthday card I made with my new Simon Says Stamp Cute Critters stamp and die. This piggy is the cutest..eva! I went more clean and simple than I'm use to but I like it and I like that it didn't take 2 hours to make!

I just colored piggy with Copics and die cut him out. I mounted him on a MFT stitched circle die (love) and popped him up on foam tape. Then I cut a spellbinder banner, airbrushed it, and stamped the sentiment. I paper pieced the balloon, stamped it, and added clear spica pen. The paper is Fancy Pants, I believe. I centered the items in the sketch instead of how they were laid out.

Hugs, Kim

SFYTT September Card

Hi Friends, I have a masculine birthday card to share today compliments of Reverse Confetti. I picked up my first RC stamp set, Oliver Owl. I think he's a great addition to my stamp collection. I need more masculine stamps and thought he fit the bill nicely.

I waited until the first of the month to see if the September "Sketch for you to try" would work with Mr. Owl and it did, perfectly. I also needed a card for my Boss in a few weeks so I colored him with Copics to match my paper. I just love to do that! (I always choose my paper before I decide what colors to use, how about you?)

I stamped the glasses in Momento Teal Zeal ink, cut them out with scissors and a craft knife, then sponged some more ink over them to get rid of any stray white paper. I adhered them on with Ranger Matte Medium. (You must get some!) I added various colors of enamel dots, all from different packages, for simple embellishing.

Fall Wedding

Hi Bloggers, I'm playing in the Curtain Call Challenge-Lovely Leaves today. This card was made for my daughter. Her wedding is in 4 weeks! She's calling her wedding style rustic elegance. Her invitations were printed on kraft paper. I paired kraft with touches of gold on this card and added dark purple to match the bridesmaid's dresses. She loves Fall so I added the leaves in the colors that will be in the flower bouquets and also in the Curtain Call Challenge inspiration photo.

The polka dotted vellum is Bo Bunny from one of my Simon Says Stamp Monthly Kits. The sentiment stamp is Our Daily Bread Designs, heat embossed in Recollections detail gold powder. I added a little gold ribbon and die cut gold glitter paper banner. I regret using the purple and white sequins and may try to take them off and replace with gold.
