Inspired by all the little things #58

Hi Friends! I just love this weeks photo for Inspired by all the little things! I pulled out this very old Hero Arts stamp set that I'm pretty sure is retired. I heat embossed it with VersaMark and white powder. After inking up 3 ink blending tools with Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry and Fossilized Amber, I starting blending the ink.
I made a boo boo with the order in which I used the colors! Following the colors on the pretty bottles, I meant to put Pink on the bottom. :) Oh well, I still like it.
For the sentiment I die cut with white card stock a 3 layer word from Simon says stamp and added the second part by heat embossing the rest on a vellum heart. The fun part was dotting the "I's" in the word wishing with white Nuvo drops.

Our guest this week is Donna Mikasa and the team has some wonderful inspiration for you so come on by for a visit!

See you next week.

Inspired by all the little things #57

Hey Friends, How are you? We have a pretty tulip inspiration for you this week. I could have gone in a lot of directions with this but then my friend brought this stamp to my local card club meeting and it was perfect for the challenge. It's from Stampendous and it was so fun to color with Zigs! It made a great note card which I mailed immediately to Mom.

I stamped it on Bristol card stock with Versafine ink.
Since the image is large I just die cut it and set it on a gingham patterned paper mat and then on Kraft. The sentiment is Hero Arts.

Our guest this week is Shari MacLaughlin. Come visit the blog and see everyone's cards!
Until next week!

Inspired by all the little things #56

Hey Friends. It's Challenge 56 already at Inspired by all the little things! Bicycles and flowers, a sure sign that warm weather is coming, even tho we're having a cold week in Connecticut!

Good thing I had this cute set by Simon says Stamp with a bicycle. I colored with Copics and die cut all the images with the coordinating dies. Then using Mojo Monday Sketch 496 as a guide I made my focal panel using a cloud embossing folder on white CS cut with a LF Stitched Rectangle die. I layered that onto colored card stock as shown in the sketch. Glossy accents was used on the doggie's nose and flower centers. See, it's still cloudy cuz it's wet!

Michele Henderson is our guest this week, Come on by and visit, better yet join us with a card!
Thanks,
Kim

Lawnfawnatics Black,White and Bright

Hey Friends, I've been wanting to play in the new Lawn Fawnatics Challenges since they started up recently. And I'm also submitted to Simon Says Stamp Wed. Challenge, Hint of Pink. I had both in mind while making this.

I thought I was going to use LF Flamingos but saw this set and thought is would lend itself to bright colors.

First I quickly colored the Merry Go Round with Copics and die cut out. I grabbed my LF stitched squares dies which barely get used, some LF black and white polkadot paper, some raspberry card stock and layered them. After stamping and diecutting the banner and sentiment I popped the banner and image with foam tape. I finished it with stamped stars and sequins for sparkle.

Thanks for visiting today!

Butterfly Birthday

Hi Friends, I made this card for my Local Card Club color challenge. (It's on old Colour Q challenge but I can't find the photo) I thought I'd link it up to a few challenges including the Curtain Call Challenge-Flutter

I started by ink smooshing some distress inks (blues, purples, greens and navy) on a piece of A2 watercolor paper and set aside to dry. The I dies cut these lovely Memory Box butterflies with white paper to use the negative space for my watercolor panel.

Since the challenge colors had gold in it, I used gold foil card stock for the centers of the flutterbys and SSS Hello sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment (may be retired Flourishes?) in white on navy card stock.

Also submitting this to Seize the Birthday-Anything Goes.

Inspired by all the little things #55

Hey Friends! Welcome to Inspired by all the little things # 55! Oh, what a pretty color pallette and photo we have for you! When making my card I had the photo on my I pad sitting right on my desk but somehow I veered off course! My card stock is Ocean Tides by Papertrey Ink. I thought it matched dusty green in the photo but it looks blue here.

Any-who, I saw the succulent in the flower bouquet and pulled out Hero Arts "Stamp your own succulents. First I tried Zigs but the coloring gods said no so I had to rely on my Copics. I fussy cut the images out because there's no die for this set. I found some patterned papers that matched the card stock and layered them up following Mojo Monday Sketch 494. May Arts Twine and a few sequins finish it off.

Our guest this week is Heidi Shafer. Come on by and add "your" card to the gallery!

Hugs, Kim
