VLVMarch2014

Hi card makers, I finally finished this card I started a few days ago. Viva la Verve Sketch #3 for March. I like this sketch a lot and hope to remember to use it again. I used my Basic Grey "Fresh Cut" paper again. I love floral paper and I like the solids in this pad because the resemble water colored patterns.

My sewing machine was cooperating tonight so I stitched around the perimeter and on the diagonal. Then after stamping the Verve flower in every shade of pink ink I had I settled on this Versamagic chalk ink. I stamped the leaves in Momento pear tart on green card stock and die cut them with the matching Verve die. The birthday sentiment stamp is also Verve. Twine, a button and enamel dots finish it.

Watercolor Birthday Card

Hi Friends, I tried some water coloring! Sort of. I didn't use a brush except to add a little extra color to the flowers but the majority of this was done by smushing some TH distress ink pads onto a TH craft mat, spraying it with water and laying the TH watercolor paper front side down onto it.

First of course, I heat embossing this Stampedous flower image with navy embossing powder by Hampton Arts. I was inspired by Kristina Werner's video HERE. Water coloring sure is fun! I bought some Stampin Up aqua painter brushes so I could do some controlled water coloring next time.

I pierced the image piece with a piercer tool and layered it on a Navy SB scalloped rectangle. I know, it looks black. Following Sweet Sunday Sketch 209 I prepared the base with card stock and Basic Grey's Fresh Cut paper. You'll be see a lot more of it, it's so pretty! Lastly I cut a MFT tab and inked a Verve birthday sentiment in pink ink, not sure which one and added some MME enamel dots.

FTTC 263 -Touch of Gold Challenge

Hi all, I made this card for the latest Flourishes Challenge FTTC 263. Use a Touch of Gold on your card. I used gold sequins (Kelly Purkey) from a recent purchase and I also sprayed some gold glimmer mist on my image. It can't be seen in the photo. I used Deconstructed Sketch 142 from last week. The bee hive stamp is Flourishes and was colored with Copics. I used some MME paper and PTI Rust colored card stock. I stamped and heat embossed the hello stamp set from the same set.

Viva La Verve March 2014 Week 2

Hi Friends, continuing with building my birthday card stash I made a card for week 2 of Viva La Verve March 2014 challenge. I hope to make the whole month of cards since I'm going to be needing a boatload of cards in the upcoming months. This is one one of those cards where it came out so different from what I had in mind but that's ok.
I used a Verve Birthday stamp set called "Big Wish" for the sentiment. I used some old Jolee's cupcake stickers, ribbon, twine, button and lacey circles Spellbinder dies.
I also added Polka Dots for Verve's Polka dot challenge but I think I missed the deadline. ( I'll check).
Some other challenges that I will link to are:
The Shabby Tea Room -Anything Goes
Cuttlebug Mania-Dotty Used the birthday Cuttlebug folder and dotty paper
Craftin Desert Divas - Buttons, Ribbons, Twine etc.
The Pink Elephant -Recipe Challenge, Layers, Ribbon, pinch of green

Tootles! Kim

Viva La Verve March 2014 Week One

Hi all, This card is for week one of Verve's Viva La Verve March Challenge. I feel like my mojo has taken a maternity leave since my Grandson was born. I've been having a hard time creating for the last week or so. Maybe because my mind is on baby cuddles and oohing and aahing. :)

I decided to post it anyway because we can't always hit a home run, right? I used a great Verve Birthday set for the cake and the label stamp set and die for under the cake. Copics were used to color the cake image, a Cuttlebug embossing folder was used for the background and I added some fish tale banners cut with a MFT die.
I'm not sure if it's alright to link this post to other challenges besides Verve. I'll try it and if it's not ok, I'll learn for next time. Kim

Lexi's Creations -Punches and Dies ( I used a die)

Welcome Baby Grandson!

Hi Friends, Well, it happened! My daughter blessed us with a grandson this past weekend, 3 weeks early. And he is so SWEET. Pictures to come. His arrival inspired me to make this card following the Mojo Monday Sketch 336. I saw this Penny Black stamp sitting on my shelf and I always wanted to color it with Prismas on Kraft. So I dusted them off and colored this up! It's my one and only Hedgehog Stamp and he's so cute.
I used some older K&Co gingham paper, PTI Blue, Yellow and Kraft Card stock, an older prima flower, Swiss Dots EF, button and twine. The sentiment is Hero Arts stamped in Memento Danube Blue ink. I kept it pretty simple for mailing. It was fun to color with Prisma pencils again. No OMS were used, just blending with the pencils themselves.

Thanks for visiting today! I'm still on cloud nine about my new baby grandbaby. :)

Sweet Sunday Sketch 208

Hi Bloggers, I was going for a masculine card with this one and not sure I achieved it. I used the SSS208 for the sketch. I just found out that the challenge closed already, darn it! Back to the card, I used Basic Grey "Fact" paper and the casino chip is part of a chipboard alpha pack from BG. I've had this Jennie Bowlin bingo card in my stash forever. I used a Verve birthday sentiment. Some washi tape was added (look hard) some SC wood veneer stars and a few sequins. Would you send this card to a man? or boy, maybe?

I'm added links to this card for a few other challenges.
